Actually, the absence of precise measuring doesn't really spoil anything; it looks more "instinctive" this way.
(And if you are to use that as a tattoo, you always can choose the half you like best.)
Yeah, I could save some time, but it would spoil my fun... *smirks* Even though it's hard to make things like that symmetric, it's still fun to do. ^^
And as a useful side-effect it's a good training
But I guess if I would get a symmetric design as a tattoo I would copy the better side, that's true.
